The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has instructed the removal of all items from parts of Boduthakurufaanu Magu ahead of the commencement of road development works on the northern side of the area.

In a statement, the ministry said construction on the stretch from the Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Izzuddin jetty is scheduled to begin tomorrow, with all items in the area required to be cleared before 6:00 a.m.

The ministry noted that any items remaining after the deadline will be removed by authorities. The affected area, which is widely used for ferry operations, includes spaces where motorcycles are parked and where goods are temporarily stored and unloaded.

Works will be carried out in multiple segments, with sections of the northern side of the road expected to be closed to facilitate construction. The project will cover a 700-metre stretch, forming part of broader efforts to improve road infrastructure in the capital.
