Bank of Maldives (BML) recorded over 87 million card transactions in 2024, with 55 million processed via point-of-sale (POS) machines at local businesses. An additional 14 million transactions were made through ATMs, and 9 million were recorded overseas, reflecting widespread card usage. BML also reported MVR 9 million in online transactions and expects these figures to rise further in 2024 as ATM services expand across more islands.
