First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has stated that creativity, civilisation and happiness can only be achieved when health is made a national priority.

She made the remarks while inaugurating the Dhulhaheyo Dhiriulhun campaign, launched to raise awareness about the harmful effects of poor dietary habits and to encourage citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Speaking at the ceremony, the First Lady highlighted that learning proper habits of eating and living is fundamental to building a healthy and happy society. She said a nation that prioritises health will develop stronger talent, creativity, and social harmony, adding that Islam also places great emphasis on balanced living and consuming halal food.

She further noted that Maldivians have historically supported national initiatives aimed at improving public welfare and praised the strong public backing for President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s Generational Tobacco Ban, which she described as a bold step toward a healthier future. The First Lady expressed confidence that the new campaign will unite the nation in creating a healthier, happier, and more productive society.

Speaking at the same event, Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, has emphasised that collective effort is essential to build a healthier society. He said the Ministry of Health will collaborate closely with local councils, educational institutions, organisations and the wider public to ensure the success of the Dhulhaheyo Dhiriulhun campaign.
