The Ministry of Health has launched the Dhulhaheyo Dhiriulhun campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and raising awareness about the adverse effects of poor dietary habits.
Operating under the slogan “Dhulhaheyo Dhiriulhun, Ufaaveri Mujuthamau” (Healthy Living, Prosperous Life), the campaign seeks to address the growing prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases in the Maldives. It will be implemented in collaboration with island and city councils, Women’s Development Committees, educational institutions, and community organisations.
The programme will target citizens of all age groups, from children to the elderly, encouraging balanced diets, physical activity, and long-term wellbeing.
To further inspire participation, three special awards – the Rashu Award, School Award, and Jamiyyaa Award – have been introduced to recognise outstanding contributions to public health promotion. Through collective community engagement, the campaign aims to build a healthier and more resilient nation.
