All Maldivian pilgrims have now arrived safely in Mina, the Maldives Hajj Mission has confirmed, as preparations continue for the journey to Arafat later tonight.

Maldivian pilgrims began travelling to Mina overnight as part of the Hajj rituals. The Hajj Mission stated that all pilgrims had safely reached Mina and that arrangements are now underway for their departure to the plains of Arafat.

Head of the Maldives Hajj Mission, Sheikh Imthithaau Abbas, said all Maldivian pilgrims had successfully arrived in Mina and that their overall condition remained good.

He further stated that the Hajj Mission is continuing to provide all necessary assistance and support to help pilgrims complete the Hajj, while closely monitoring the wellbeing and needs of all Maldivian pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.

Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowment Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed also stated that Maldivian pilgrims are receiving what he described as the highest standard of service and assistance ever provided to Maldivian Hajj pilgrims.

The Minister further noted that all arrangements in Mina and Arafat had been completed smoothly and in full preparation for the next stages of the pilgrimage.

Minister Dr Shaheem added that the Maldives Hajj Mission is closely overseeing all matters concerning the pilgrims, assuring that the Government remains committed to providing the best possible services and support to Maldivian pilgrims throughout the Hajj journey.
