President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed Independence Day greetings to Jordan, extending felicitations to King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, the government and the people of Jordan.

In a message shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu said it gave him “great pleasure” to extend sincere felicitations on the occasion of Jordan’s Independence Day.

The President expressed hope that the occasion would further strengthen unity among the Jordanian people and contribute to the country’s continued harmony and success.

Highlighting the close ties between the Maldives and Jordan, President Dr Muizzu noted that the two countries are bound by a common faith and shared values.

In addition, the President expressed hope that the Maldives and Jordan would continue to benefit from their cordial bilateral relations through goodwill, reciprocal support and open dialogue.

Jordan celebrates its Independence Day on 25 May, commemorating the country’s independence from British rule in 1946. Jordan is marking its 80th Independence Day this year.
