Maldivian shuttlers Hussain Hussain Zayan Zaki and Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) have earned a silver medal in the mixed doubles event at the Botswana International Badminton Tournament, capping off a stellar performance by athletes from the Revival Sports Club of Maldives.

The pair showcased skill and determination throughout the tournament, advancing to the final where they faced Azerbaijan's Era Maftuha and Agil Gabilov. Despite their effort, Zayan and Naba were defeated in straight sets.

The final proved to be a nail-biter in the opening set, with the Maldivian duo giving their Azerbaijani opponents a tough challenge. Maftuha and Gabilov narrowly edged out the first set 23-21. The second set remained closely contested, but the Azerbaijani pair secured victory with a 21-18 win.

This silver medal added to an impressive haul for the Revival Sports Club’s athletes, who secured a total of five medals in the tournament.

Nabaha demonstrated her prowess in the women’s singles category, clinching a gold medal for the Maldives. In the men’s singles event, Zayan and teammate Nibal Ahmed earned bronze medals.
