The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a White Alert for areas stretching from Haa Alifu Atoll to Laamu Atoll, warning of adverse weather conditions tonight.

According to the MET, the alert will remain in effect from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Wind speeds are expected to reach 19 to 24 miles per hour, with gusts peaking at 45 mph. Rough seas are also anticipated across the region during this period.

The MET advises seafarers and residents in affected areas to exercise caution.
