The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has extended the deadline for licensed tour guides to submit their annual reports, offering a final opportunity to comply with regulatory requirements.

Under the Tour Guide Regulation, licensed tour guides are required to submit a report for the previous calendar year to the Ministry by June 30. Failure to meet this deadline may result in the cancellation of their licence.

In a statement issued this week, the Ministry announced that the submission deadline has been extended for those who have not yet filed their reports. The new deadline is 2:00 p.m. on July 31.

The Ministry has warned that tour guides who fail to submit their complete 2024 reports by the extended deadline will have their licences revoked. To resume tour guiding activities in the Maldives, affected individuals will need to reapply for a new licence.
