The National Mental Health Department has announced a temporary contact number for its 24-hour mental health helpline.

In a statement shared on X, the department confirmed that the disruption was due to a technical fault, and that efforts are currently underway to restore the helpline. In the interim, those in need of immediate mental health support are advised to call 7265402.

The national mental health helpline, 1677, was launched by the Ministry of Health on February 21, 2024 to provide around-the-clock psychological assistance to individuals across all age groups experiencing mental distress. The service offers mental health guidance, emotional support, problem-solving, and referrals to appropriate services.

The department assured the public that the issue is being addressed with urgency and that updates will be provided once full service is restored.
