President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended condolences to the government and people of Bangladesh following a military aircraft crash in Dhaka that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries on July 21, 2025.

The incident involved a Bangladesh Army F-7 BGI fighter jet, which crashed into the premises of Milestone School and College, a private school in the Uttara area of Dhaka. According to local reports, at least 19 people were killed, and dozens sustained injuries, including several students who were taken to hospital for treatment.

The President expressed his sympathies in a message shared on X, addressing the loss of lives and widespread impact of the crash. He conveyed solidarity with the Bangladeshi government and those affected by the incident.

Footage from the scene showed thick smoke billowing from the building struck by the aircraft, as emergency responders rushed to the site to begin rescue and relief efforts. Dozens of emergency workers were seen sifting through the charred debris in search of survivors, while large crowds gathered nearby, with some spectators climbing surrounding rooftops to watch the operation. The incident is now considered the deadliest aviation disaster in Bangladesh since a 1984 crash on a flight from Chattogram to Dhaka, which claimed the lives of all 49 people on board.
