The Maldives Police Service has arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing another man during an altercation in Laamu Maavah.

Police said they received a report at 10:12 a.m. that a man had been stabbed and injured. The victim, identified as 29-year-old Moosa Ibrahim, a resident of Maavah, was taken to the health centre where he was declared dead on arrival.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the initial investigation suggests that the incident occurred during a fight between two individuals. Moosa Ibrahim sustained fatal injuries during the clash.

The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Mohamed Ibrahim, a resident of Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaranfaru. He has been taken into police custody, and authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
