The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast unstable weather across the country over the next two days.
According to the latest advisory, scattered thunderstorms are likely to affect all regions, with particularly heavy downpours anticipated over the central and southern atolls. The most intense activity is expected during the afternoons and evenings, in line with prevailing southwest monsoon patterns.
Wind speeds are forecast to range between 7 and 17 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 40 miles per hour. Seas are expected to remain moderate to rough, with an increased risk during stormy conditions.
The Met Office has advised the public, especially seafarers, to exercise caution, as adverse conditions could pose safety risks and cause localised disruption.
Authorities recommend closely monitoring official weather updates and limiting outdoor activities where possible during periods of severe weather.
