The Maldives Police (MPS) Service has arrested a man from Raa Dhuvaafaru in connection with a drug case. 

MPS stated that Ibrahim Abdulrazzaq, 38, of Raa Dhuvaafaru, was arrested with two packets of substances suspected to be drugs. 

He was arrested during an operation carried out following a tip-off about the use and sale of drugs. He was arrested on the night of 25 July, when he was stopped and searched on the road.

This operation was carried out with the support of the Dhuvaafaru Police Station. 

MPS stated that he has now been remanded for 20 days, while Dhuvaafaru Police Station is further investigating the case.
