The Maldives recently hosted a 1,000-member incentive group from India, reflecting the country’s growing appeal as a destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
The visit, organised by Indian travel firm PickYourTrail, was facilitated in partnership with Visit Maldives Corporation and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). Participants, including high-performing employees and staff, were hosted at Sun Siyam Olhuveli from 10 to 21 July 2025.
Welcomed at Velana International Airport with traditional Maldivian performances and customised greetings, arrivals spanned from 11 to 13 July. The arrangements highlighted efforts to enhance the visitor experience and reinforce the Maldives’ positioning in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) segment.
Visit Maldives noted that the successful coordination of a large-scale group underscored the country’s capacity to cater to corporate travel demands, particularly from key markets like India. The event also reflects a growing trend among Indian companies seeking international destinations for employee reward programmes and business travel.
India continues to be a leading source market for the Maldives. To maintain momentum, Visit Maldives has launched a series of targeted promotional campaigns in the Indian market, including partnerships with travel platforms such as Make My Trip and TBO. Additionally, a marketing collaboration featuring Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif as the destination’s global ambassador is currently ongoing.
