Mohamed Naushad has been appointed as the latest local ambassador under the Visit Maldives Corporation’s ongoing Local Ambassadorship Programme.

The announcement, made on August 5, 2025, noted that Naushad’s appointment aims to support efforts to highlight the Maldives as a diverse destination, particularly in the area of sports tourism.

Naushad, known for his work as a football content creator and event manager, has been active in promoting both local sports and tourism. Through the ambassadorship, he is expected to contribute to showcasing the Maldives' growing interest in sports-related travel and to offer insights into local culture through his platforms.

The Local Ambassadorship Programme, launched by Visit Maldives, seeks to incorporate voices from within the community to share authentic stories and lived experiences. It is part of a broader strategy to position the Maldives as a destination that offers more than leisure and luxury, while also promoting local engagement in the tourism sector.

Naushad is the second figure to be appointed under the programme, following the selection of the musical duo '2ofUs' as its inaugural ambassadors. The corporation has stated that the initiative will continue to feature individuals from various creative and professional backgrounds.
