President inaugurates water and sewerage services in Himandhoo

The Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has successfully completed the water and sewerage system project in Alifu Alifu Himandhoo.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated the provision of water and sewerage services in Himandhoo at a ceremony held today, attended by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib, MWSC’s Managing Director Abdul Mateen Mohamed, state ministers, and local residents.
As part of the project, a dedicated facility building was established to house the water plant, alongside the development of the main water network, sea outfall, and rejection line. Additional works included the installation of storage tanks to safeguard water supplies, the drilling of boreholes, and the establishment of sewage pumping stations. Specialised vehicles have also been provided for the maintenance of the sewerage system.
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure awarded the project to MWSC at a total cost of MVR 65.83 million.
