Maalhos Police Station construction officially begins

The Government has commenced work on establishing a police station in Alifu Alifu Maalhos, with the ground breaking ceremony held today as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island.

The ceremony was officiated by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, joined by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen, Road Development Corporation (RDC) Managing Director Ibrahim Naseem, and the President of Maalhos Council.

The project is being developed by the RDC under plans of the establishing police stations on all inhabited islands within two years;  a core objective of the current Administration. To achieve this, the Government has partnered with state-owned enterprises to build police facilities on 75 islands.
