The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been contracted with a project to modernise the roads of Alifu Alifu Maalhos, with works scheduled for completion within 730 days.

The agreement, valued at MVR 53.8 million, was signed at a ceremony between the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure and RDC. Minister Dr Abdulla Muthalib signed on behalf of the Ministry, while RDC Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem signed on behalf of the corporation, during President Dr Muizzu's visit to the island. 

According to the Ministry, the project is part of the Government’s initiative to improve infrastructure and living conditions in inhabited islands. RDC, which has carried out a number of national infrastructure projects, will oversee the upgrades to enhance safety and connectivity within the island.
