The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to develop new sports facilities in Raa Kinolhas, including a volleyball court and a futsal ground.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Ibrahim Niyaz, on behalf of the Government, while MTCC’s Deputy Managing Director, Ahmed Shareef Abdul Rahman Yoosuf, signed on behalf of the company.

Under the contract, valued at MVR 1.24 million, MTCC will complete the development of the volleyball court within 120 days, funded through the State budget. The project scope includes concrete works, wall construction, and turfing of the court.

The project is part of the Government’s efforts to expand access to sports facilities across the country and to promote healthy and active lifestyles within communities.
