The Maldives Police Service has disposed of a cache of alcohol seized at Kadhdhoo Airport, which were under custody of the Fonadhoo Police Station.

According to police, the alcohol was confiscated by airport aviation security from departing tourists between 24 January and 17 August 2025 and subsequently handed over to the station. A total of 56 bottles of liquor and 73 cans of beer were destroyed on 21 August.

Police stated that the disposal was carried out under the supervision of a committee formed in accordance with regulations governing the handling and destruction of seized alcohol.
