Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has designated two alternative areas to ensure uninterrupted daily ferry services during ongoing harbor repairs near the Malé local market.

The repair project, launched yesterday, forms part of the broader effort to expand Boduthakurufaanu Magu into a four-lane road and upgrade surrounding infrastructure to modern standards. As a result, sections of the road and harbor in the market area have been closed.

From 20 August to 19 November, ferry operators will temporarily operate from MPL’s Northwest Harbour and the Southwest Harbour (T-Jetty). MPL noted that once repair works are complete, services at both harbors will resume in line with their established operating regulations.
