Chief Justice Uz Abdul Ghanee Mohamed has said that the newly introduced Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) will significantly improve the efficiency of the judiciary.

Speaking at the system’s launch ceremony, he noted that the technology-enabled platform would speed up the process of filing, registering, scheduling, and conducting cases. He urged all courts to adopt the system at the earliest opportunity.

The ICMS was designed by the Department of Judicial Administration and is already in use at the Criminal Court.

Reflecting on his recent visits to courts in Malé since assuming office on 6 August, the Chief Justice said he had observed several challenges affecting judicial operations. He explained that resolving these issues would allow courts to hear cases more swiftly.

The Chief Justice added that not all problems could be addressed through State funding alone, as some stem from legal constraints. He stated that the judiciary would hold discussions with the Attorney General to explore ways of removing such obstacles.
