President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Doha, the capital of Qatar, describing it as a cowardly act and a serious violation of international law.

In a statement published on social media, President Dr Muizzu described the attack as a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed that the Maldives firmly stands alongside Qatar and called on the international community to respond with collective action to hold Israel accountable for its repeated disregard of international law and global norms.

President Dr Muizzu has consistently reaffirmed the Maldives’ support for Palestine, urging the international community to unite in pursuit of justice, dignity and peace. He has voiced concern over the heavy toll of Israel’s military campaign, which has killed more than 60,000 Palestinians since October 2023, and welcomed global initiatives such as the New York Declaration on Palestine as signs of growing solidarity for a two-state solution.
