The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced that 14 towers of Aman Udhares will be the first to be handed over under the Gedhoruveriya Housing Scheme. Key distribution for the initial flats is set to begin this week.
According to FDC, the housing units being developed in Hulhumalé Phase 2 will be released in stages, based on progress. Out of the total 16 towers, 14 are now ready for handover. This includes buildings that are fully completed as well as those nearing completion, with the order of transfer reflecting their level of progress.
The first flats will go to individuals who have already signed agreements and paid the required security deposit. Once deposits are cleared, residents will be able to collect their keys. Officials confirmed that the process could begin as early as tomorrow.
FDC figures show that over 3,000 people have already signed flat agreements, with the deposit payment window still open. The Government has set the deposit at MVR 15,000 for two-bedroom apartments and MVR 25,000 for three-bedroom apartments. Payments must be made in a single installment, though no strict deadline has been imposed.
In addition, the Government has announced a major rent subsidy for tenants who make timely payments. Under the new policy, monthly rent will be reduced to MVR 9,000 for three-bedroom apartments and MVR 7,000 for two-bedroom units. Previously, the rate stood at MVR 13,000 for three-bedroom units and MVR 9,000 for two-bedroom units.
