The handover process for 4,000 Fahi Dhiriulhun Corpration (FDC) housing units is set to begin today.

In a statement on Wednesday, FDC said the process will be managed through its Fahi Portal, with key collection details sent to recipients via SMS and Portal. Handover will begin with 14 towers of the Aman Udhares, where electricity, water and sewerage connections have been completed.

FDC also reported that agreements for 3,000 of the 4,000 units have already been signed, with final preparations ongoing for the handover. Security deposit payments are currently underway, and keys will be issued once deposits are settled. Deposits are set at MVR 15,000 for two-bedroom units and MVR 25,000 for three-bedroom units.

The Government has also announced a rent subsidy for tenants who make timely payments. Under the scheme, monthly rent will be reduced to MVR 9,000 for three-bedroom units and MVR 7,000 for two-bedroom units, compared to the previous rates of MVR 13,000 and MVR 9,000 respectively.
