First Lady and Chief Guide Sajidha Mohamed met today with Niumath Shafeeq, the newly elected Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), along with members of the Maldives Girl Guides Association, at the President’s official residence, Mulee-aage.

During the meeting, the First Lady congratulated Niumath on her election and expressed pride in her achievement, emphasising the significance of a Maldivian representative serving on such a prominent international platform.

Niumath thanked the First Lady for her continued support in her role as Chief Guide and commended her active involvement in Girl Guide activities. Discussions also focused on the challenges currently facing the Girl Guides, the importance of sustained training programmes to support youth development, and the need for a dedicated campsite to enhance Guide activities nationwide.
