President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has instructed that a new 'Lui Loan' scheme for content creators be launched within the next two weeks.

In a post via X, the President said the technical work to establish the scheme has been completed. He noted that the initiative, included in his manifesto, is intended to expand the role of the creative economy and provide opportunities for young people to engage more actively in the sector.

According to the President, the scheme will support areas such as media content, audio-visual production, entertainment, and sales and marketing content.

President Dr Muizzu has previously said that his Administration aims for creative industries to contribute at least 15 per cent of GDP by 2030. He stated that the Maldives’ young, tech-savvy population and its improving digital infrastructure provide a strong foundation for local talent and international creative partnerships.
