The Maldives has condemned Israel’s large-scale ground assault in Gaza, warning that the operation represents a serious escalation of the conflict and further deepens the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government said the offensive is in clear violation of international law and highlights the urgent need for collective international action. It urged the global community to act swiftly and decisively to halt the violence and ensure accountability for the widespread civilian suffering.
The Maldives reaffirmed its unwavering support for Palestinian rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state. It reiterated that a lasting solution lies in the creation of a sovereign State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Government stressed that Israel’s continued military actions against civilians cannot be tolerated and must be addressed through unified international pressure and humanitarian intervention.
