Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract to construct a Fitness and Recreation Centre in Vaavu Felidhoo.

The agreement was signed on Friday during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island. MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudee signed on behalf of the company, while Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu signed on behalf of the Government. The ceremony was attended by Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, Felidhoo Council members and senior Government officials.

The project involves the development of a 4,005 square-foot facility, valued at MVR 5.24 million, to be completed within 240 days.

Home to 696 residents, Felidhoo is expected to benefit both socially and physically from the new centre, which MTCC said would provide opportunities for healthier lifestyles and community engagement.
