The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to construct a new building for Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital in Dhidhdhoo.
The agreement was formalised at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health on 25 September, where Minister of State for Health Ahmed Gasim signed on behalf of the Government and MTCC Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Shareef Abdul Rahman Yoosuf on behalf of the company.
Valued at MVR 185.6 million, the project is scheduled for completion within 780 days. It will deliver a new five-storey, 50-bed hospital building alongside a service block.
According to the Health Ministry, the hospital will feature modern medical infrastructure, including an isolation facility and a radiology department equipped with X-ray, CT, MRI, mammography and ultrasound services. Additional facilities will include a waste management centre, an industrial laundry, and an oxygen plant.
