Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) will host the second edition of its Tourism Symposium on 1 October 2025 in Malé City.

The event, themed “The Futureshapers’ Workshop”, will gather industry stakeholders, policymakers, and media representatives to discuss the future direction of the Maldives tourism sector.

The symposium, first held in 2024, is organised with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. This year’s programme will include presentations, panel discussions, and workshops on travel trends, traveller profiles, and insights from pre-symposium surveys. The sessions are intended to inform the Maldives’ tourism growth strategy for 2026.

During the event, VMC will present its tentative Destination Marketing Plan for 2026, which will outline initiatives under the “Ocean Nation” framework. Discussions will cover niche segments such as luxury tourism, superyacht and boating tourism, as well as guesthouse and atoll-based tourism.

Updates on performance in key source markets, including India, China, Russia, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Middle East, the United States and France, will be shared during the working lunch.

The symposium will conclude with a session summarising the key insights and identifying next steps. VMC has said that notes and survey data from the event will be compiled into a report to help shape the 2026 marketing strategy.
