The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has ordered Fenaka Corporation to recover more than MVR 21.4 million in connection with 161 cases of alleged fraud committed during the previous administration.
In a statement on Thursday, the commission said the directive follows findings of a special audit report issued by the Auditor General’s Office on Fenaka’s procurement and financial practices. The ACC noted that many of the issues highlighted in the report fall within its investigative jurisdiction, and investigations are underway.
According to the commission, it is currently probing 161 cases related to Fenaka. Of these, the prosecution phase has already begun in 13 cases with the Prosecutor General’s Office. Since 2022, the ACC has also forwarded nine cases for prosecution involving various individuals linked to the company.
The commission confirmed that to date, Fenaka has been instructed to recover a total of MVR 21,458,280.86.
In addition, the ACC has directed Fenaka to address 96 issues identified during its investigations. These include 49 matters concerning the conduct of company management, 26 relating to company policies, 10 related to recovery of funds lost due to corruption, and eight involving inspection and development processes.
