First Lady Sajidha Mohamed highlighted the resilience, leadership, and strength of girls in her message for the International Day of the Girl Child. Sharing her remarks on X, she said girls worldwide are leading change in their communities and showing courage in times of adversity.

The First Lady called for collective efforts to ensure that girls’ voices are heard and respected, and that they are provided with equal opportunities to learn and contribute to society. She stressed that equitable access to education and opportunities is vital in empowering the next generation of leaders.

The International Day of the Girl Child, observed annually on 11 October, aims to recognise the rights of girls and address the challenges they face globally.
