President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to resolve Laamu Mundoo's harbour issue under next year’s State budget, reaffirming his Administration’s commitment to equitable development across all islands regardless of population size.

At the community meeting in Mundoo, council members highlighted the harbour’s poor condition as the island’s top priority, alongside requests to upgrade health services and establish a women’s volleyball court. In response, President Dr Muizzu said the Government will address the island’s immediate needs within the next two years, including sports facilities, improved health centre testing services, and air conditioning for Mundoo School.

The President also inaugurated a Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM on the island and groundbreaking for a new Police Station was held during the visit, highlighting key steps toward enhancing local access to essential services. He added that the Government will renovate the school building including air-conditioning, replace furniture, and refurbish the hall, ensuring the project is completed by the start of the next academic year.
