Vice President underscores collaboration as key to national development

Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has stressed that collaborative engagement is vital to achieving the Maldives’ national development goals.
He made the remarks as the Guest of Honour at the ‘Mahaasanadhu’ Award Ceremony held at Raa Meedhoo School Hall. Organised by the Meedhoo Island Council, the awards recognise individuals for their outstanding contributions to the island’s progress and community service.
The Vice President stated that the initiative plays a key role in fostering community pride and unity, encouraging residents to continue contributing to the island’s development.
During the ceremony, the Vice President presented several awards, including the Thakhan, Kaleyfaanu, and Madhadhu Awards, as well as the Nalanala Meedhoo Award. Multiple plaques were also conferred to honour achievements in education, public service, and vocational excellence.
As part of his visit, the Vice President met with the Meedhoo Island Council, Women’s Development Committee, and representatives from local institutions.
