President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his condolences following the passing of two Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) employees after a landing craft capsized on Sunday.

In a post on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as to the officials and employees of MPL, following the passing of Maldivian national Ali Aflah Abdulla and Bangladeshi national Masud Hossain. He also prayed for their eternal peace and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.

The President also called on giving top priority to the safety of workers in all operational environments.
