The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has designated temporary docking areas for vessels as land reclamation work for Hulhumalé Phase III is set to commence.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, HDC said the move follows its earlier announcement on 30 October instructing vessel owners to remove their boats from the Hulhumalé lagoon area, where reclamation activities will soon begin.
According to HDC, all vessels currently docked in the reclamation zone must be relocated by 12:00 a.m. on 6 November. The corporation has now designated specific areas for temporary docking once the vessels are removed.
Safaris have been allocated spaces in the Kaafu Gulhifalhu, Kudagiri, and Thilafushi lagoon areas, while boats and other vessels may use the Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi lagoons.
HDC urged vessel owners to comply with the relocation instructions. The corporation also expressed gratitude to the public and vessel owners for their cooperation in facilitating the upcoming reclamation works.
