Key infrastructure projects begin in Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo during President’s visit

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Seenu Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo on Wednesday witnessed the commencement of several key development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public services on the two islands.

During the visit, practical works officially began on the development of roads in Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo, inaugurated by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib.

As part of the Administration’s efforts to expand access to essential services, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bank of Maldives (BML) branch in Hulhudhoo was officiated by Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar.

Minister Adam Shareef also launched practical works for the establishment of a Waste Management Centre to serve both Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo, as well as Fitness and Recreation Centres on each island, supporting the Government’s goal of enhancing community wellbeing and promoting active lifestyles.
