The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has brought five of its programmes under the OneGov platform, expanding digital access to essential social welfare services.
At the ceremony held to mark the transition, NSPA CEO Heena Waleed stated that the move represents a major step forward in improving service delivery, especially for vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, individuals undergoing therapeutic treatment, and those seeking various forms of assistance. She noted that delays and accessibility challenges have been longstanding concerns and that digitising services under OneGov is expected to ease these issues significantly.
Heena also highlighted that the integration supports the Administration’s policy of bringing Government services closer to the public and raising service quality nationwide. While five programmes have been transferred in this phase, NSPA aims to digitalise all its services by next year.
TradeNet stated that the shift will allow NSPA’s services to reach people more directly and efficiently through the unified OneGov system.
NSPA is the national authority responsible for implementing the country’s social protection schemes, including disability allowances, financial support for the needy, medical welfare programmes, and the administration of national health insurance components. Over the years, the agency has faced rising demand and increasing caseloads, making digital transformation a key priority to streamline applications, reduce processing times, and improve transparency.
