Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam has held bilateral discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar during her official visit to India.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on reviewing the longstanding partnership between the Maldives and India, while reaffirming both countries’ commitment to continued cooperation on areas of mutual interest at both bilateral and international levels.

During the discussions, Minister Iruthisham acknowledged the close cooperation between the two countries and expressed appreciation for socio-economic development projects being implemented in the Maldives through Indian grant assistance and Line of Credit initiatives.

The ministry stated that the meeting also reflected ongoing diplomatic engagement between the Maldives and India across key sectors linked to development and regional cooperation.

Minister Iruthisham is currently undertaking her first official visit to India at the invitation of External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar.
