Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office Heena Waleed has denied claims that citizens attending President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s community meetings in the Greater Malé region are required to submit questions in advance.

Her remarks came after opposition groups alleged that participants would only be allowed to speak if their questions were pre-approved.

In a post on X, Heena rejected the accusations, stating that the President’s community meetings are held to gather public views and consultations, and that no such requirement exists.

She said participants in previous meetings were always given the opportunity to speak freely and independently. Heena assured that the upcoming meetings will continue to uphold this openness, and no participant will be required to submit questions or opinions in advance.

In the Greater Malé area, President Dr Muizzu has so far held community meetings with residents of Villimalé and Mahchangolhi.
