President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the response time for matters submitted by Maldivian students studying abroad has been reduced from an average of four weeks to four days.

Speaking on the State media programme “Nation Chat”, President Dr Muizzu said delays faced by students studying overseas had been a major concern for many students and their families. He said improvements introduced through recent changes to the Government and the reconstitution of the Cabinet were now beginning to show visible results.

The President highlighted the reduction in response time as one example of improved efficiency, adding that efforts are ongoing to shorten the processing period even further.

President Dr Muizzu said the results of the Local Council Elections and public opinion surveys showed that citizens were calling for reforms and changes within the Government. He said adjustments made to ministries and the Cabinet were aimed at addressing shortcomings and improving the implementation of Government policies.

In addition, the President said the Government remains prepared to introduce further changes where necessary to strengthen efficiency and improve service delivery.

President Dr Muizzu also said efficiency had improved significantly in the work of some ministries following the recent changes. He noted that while previous ministers had worked with dedication, the Government decided to make adjustments in order to further improve performance and achieve better results across ministries.

The President added that ministries had also been instructed to further improve responsiveness and strengthen services provided to the public.
