Fenaka Corporation has announced plans to permanently resolve electricity issues in Addu City before Ramadan in the year 2027.

Speaking on State media, Fenaka Managing Director Mohamed Najah said the company has undertaken extensive efforts over the past two years to stabilise the city’s power supply. He noted that eight generators have been sent to Addu City during this period, with work now underway to dispatch an additional generator before the upcoming Ramadan. This will add a total of 12 MW to the Addu City power grid during the current term.

Najah said 17 generators are currently in operation in Addu City. With the additional units being installed, the overall capacity of the city’s power grid has increased significantly, providing what he described as a temporary solution to recurring power outages.

He added that Fenaka is working to fulfil President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s commitment to expand Addu City’s power generation capacity to 30 MW. Najah stated that this 30 MW target is expected to be achieved within this year.
