Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has announced plans to introduce concessionary membership opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The initiative is intended to increase the involvement of small businesses in tourism promotion and expand Visit Maldives’ marketing network across the industry. The Corporation stated the new membership structure is expected to be introduced next year and will offer more affordable access for a wider range of tourism-related businesses.

As part of the measures, VMC will also reduce participation fees for roadshows and promotional activities involving resorts, guesthouses, travel agencies and liveaboards. The changes are aimed at ensuring both large and small operators can take part in international marketing initiatives.

In addition, SMEs will be offered non-physical participation options, including digital showcases, representation services and shared lead-generation support. These options are intended to allow businesses to engage with international markets without the need for overseas travel.

VMC said it will also facilitate content development initiatives, including organised content trips and content-sharing arrangements, to support marketing efforts across the sector.
