Team SEA STAG has emerged as the winner of Youth Hack 2025, a national hackathon organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts for young people interested in coding and technology.

At the award ceremony, Ooredoo Maldives Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al Hamadi presented the winning team with a cash prize of MVR 100,000. The runner-up position was secured by team Wavemind, which received MVR 75,000, while the second runner-up, SickSaySeven, was awarded MVR 50,000.

A total of 85 young participants took part in the 48-hour hackathon, which was held from 11 December to 13 December 2025. During the event, teams developed and presented solutions under four thematic areas: Sports, Fitness and Active Lifestyle; Mental Wellness and Resilience; Youth Ventures and the Gig Economy; and Arts, Culture and Digital Creativity.

Ooredoo Maldives served as the main partner of the hackathon, with Women in Tech participating as a co-partner.

The Maldives Youth Hackathon is the first event of its kind to be held in the country. The initiative was launched during the first 14 weeks of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s Administration and is aimed at equipping young people with technology-related skills while creating pathways for them to apply those skills in the global digital economy.
