A new branch of the National Career Services (NCS) has been officially opened in Addu City, expanding access to employment and career support services in the southern region.

The branch was inaugurated by the Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr Ali Haidar, at a ceremony attended by local officials and stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, the Minister emphasised that employment is closely tied to human dignity, personal purpose, and an individual’s role in society. He noted that the National Career Services plays a vital role in connecting job seekers with employers, training institutions, and skills development opportunities, while also supporting young people in adapting to the rapidly evolving world of work.

Dr Haidar highlighted that the establishment of the Addu City branch reflects the Government’s commitment to decentralising services and ensuring equitable access to employment support across the country.

The National Career Services aims to provide career guidance to youth, prepare them for the labour market, assist with job placement, and strengthen the link between education and employment. The initiative also focuses on enhancing skills development and employability, contributing to sustainable economic growth.
