New year to bring tangible progress for Maldivians: President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that the year ahead will, by the grace of Allah, bring tangible progress towards fulfilling the aspirations of the Maldivian people.

In his New Year’s address, the President said Maldivians have consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to development, prosperity and progress, a spirit that has been evident throughout the nation’s history. He noted that the Administration’s primary responsibility is to nurture capable and principled individuals while advancing the national development agenda to secure the Maldives’ place among developed nations.

The President also highlighted that the new year marks 900 years since the Maldives embraced Islam, describing the milestone as one of profound significance for the country and its people.

He further said the New Year is a time for reflection, encouraging individuals to consider their responsibilities to themselves, to society and to the nation, and to renew their resolve to work collectively and individually for the well-being and progress of the Maldives.
