Aasandha Company has clarified that patients who apply for overseas treatment with a valid doctor’s referral and complete documentation are eligible to receive assistance under the Aasandha scheme.

The clarification follows a social media post shared about a young man claiming he was unable to obtain Aasandha coverage for treatment abroad.

Aasandha Company stated that eligibility under the scheme depends on the submission of all required documents, including a referral from a registered doctor.

Some individuals publish such claims without having completed the necessary application process or without providing a doctor’s prescription. In such cases, assistance cannot be granted under the current rules of the scheme.

The Government is continuing efforts to strengthen the Aasandha system, with ongoing work aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring assistance is delivered directly to those in need.
