Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has outlined its focus for the new year, aiming to reduce operational expenses while delivering stronger results for the public.

The company held its Strategic Horizon Forum with the objective of introducing new ideas to improve productivity and enhance service quality. MWSC said its strategic direction for the year is built on four main principles: reducing costs, increasing revenue from non-water services, working closely with employees to achieve results, and maintaining high service standards for the public.

As part of this approach, the 2026 Business Plan places emphasis on digital solutions, staff upskilling, water security and environmentally sustainable practices. The forum brought together members of the board of directors, the management team and heads of departments.

During the event, the 2026 Business Plan was presented, and participants discussed challenges related to its implementation and the achievement of planned outcomes. Progress on the company’s 2025 targets was also reviewed, alongside discussions on the goals set for the coming year.

MWSC said the Strategic Horizon Forum will help strengthen planning and operational strategies, enabling the company to further develop its services and products based on experience gained, while delivering long-term benefits to both the organisation and Maldivian society.
